2025-26 Tuition & Payment Information

AAM strives to make payment easy and flexible to fit different families’ needs. All lessons at AAM are paid in advance as we pay each teacher for their time. We accept all major credit cards through our online portal, as well as Zelle payments. Gift certificates are available for lessons, classes, and musical playdates. Contact us if you’d like to give the gift of music! We offer a limited number of need-based scholarships. If you or your company is interested in sponsoring a scholarship, please contact the Director to set up a meeting or phone call. We collect a reduced tuition for trial lessons, as we pay our teachers for their time and they bring the same energy and attention whether it’s a student’s 1st or 50th lesson. Students may schedule multiple trial lessons on different instruments or with different teachers. Please see our Policies page for information regarding refunds.

Fall and Spring Semester payment options are:

1. Per Semester – This is our preferred method, allowing us to ensure continuity of students’ lessons for the entire semester. Payment for the exact number of lessons that the student will receive is collected at registration at the discounted prepaid rate of $2 less per lesson (approx. $50-100 savings per semester compared to monthly pay-per-lesson). This option is available at any time during the first two months of a semester, and the tuition will be prorated appropriately based on when the student registers. Students may easily schedule makeups in accordance with our makeup policy. Students who pay by semester are given scheduling priority at re-enrollment periods. Refunds are not available for withdrawal during the semester with this plan, as commitment to the semester is given in exchange for a lower lesson rate.

2. Pay-per-lesson – Students are billed on the 1st of the month for the exact number of lessons or classes that month. Lessons cancelled with 24 hours notice are eligible for a makeup credit. (See our Policies page for more details.) This plan allows for families to pay for the exact lessons they’re receiving each month. This tuition includes Jam Nights and recitals, but the student will pay the AAM Drop-in Rate ($10-30) for other events during the year. Pay-per-class for Music For Little Ones does not include All Together Now! classes or sibling drop-ins. Two weeks notice of withdrawal is required with this payment plan.

3. Packages – Students may purchase pre-paid packs of 5 lessons or classes to be scheduled at their convenience. These lesson packs are the same price as the pay-per-lesson/class rate, but they do not come with a guaranteed time or teacher. This is a fun and flexible option if weekly lessons are not the goal right now. Students who take package lessons are welcome to attend Jam Nights and recitals but will pay the AAM Drop-in Rate for other events and workshops. This is an excellent option for adult students.

A $64 registration fee is due once per year. (For new students registration fee is charged at the time of initial registration during the school year, and in August of the new school year thereafter. Students who register during the summer are not charged the registration fee since it will run in August for the following school year.) Students are given notice of the date this fee will be run to confirm their interest in lessons for the new school year. This fee is always nonrefundable. Tuition refunds are available if a student withdraws from lessons or a class more than 24 hours before the first meeting. Trial lesson tuition is nonrefundable. A $25/semester materials fee is applied to Intro to the Instruments classes. Additional materials for private lessons (such as lesson books, sheet music, reeds) are billed separately as they are issued to the student. Advance notice is given prior to charging any materials costing more than $25. Items less than $25 are charged at the time of issuance and the receipt is emailed.

Private Lessons - all teachers, all instruments, based on 18 weeks per semester – actual amount will vary slightly based on the lesson day and holidays/scheduled school closures (Tuesdays have 18 meetings, all other days have 17); per semester is our preferred method and provides a lower per-lesson rate by $2 per lesson. Please note that the semester payment is non-refundable, as part of the trade-off for a lower lesson rate is the commitment to the semester.

30 mins: $56 pay-per-lesson; $972 for the semester ($54 per lesson)

45 mins: $82 pay-per-lesson; $1440 for the semester ($80 per lesson)

60 mins: $105 pay-per-lesson; $1854 for the semester ($103 per lesson)

Music for Little Ones group classes - FREE trial class available

Music for Little Ones - All Together Now! and Babies/Toddlers, PreK: $25/class (45 mins), $450 for the semester (one per week+one extra/makeup), Sibling discount for same class enrollment of 20% for each child after the first.

Music for Little Ones - Intro to the Instruments (ages 4-6.5): $28/class (45 mins) with semester plan, $29/class with monthly plan, $476 for the semester; semester payment is required since this is a progressive one-semester class with limited capacity (one missed/cancelled class is factored into the semester price). Monthly payment is supported, but if a student withdraws after the half-way point of the semester a $150 withdrawal fee (or payment for the remainder of the semester, whichever is less) is assessed since we are unable to offer the spot to another student at that point in the semester.

Summer scheduling (June - early August) is flexible to accommodate travel and less predictable schedules. It is also a great time to try an instrument without a semester commitment! All private lessons and weekly classes are paid per lesson/per month and camps are paid per week for the summer session.

Pricing varies based on the camp/event duration, materials required, etc.
