Group Classes
We offer instrumental group classes for kids ages 0-7. Classes for older kids are listed here (choir & AP Music Theory Test Prep). For instrumental options for older kids and adults, visit Private Lessons.
Musical Theater Workshop (ages 7-18, 11-18)
New this year! Musical Theater Workshop provides a safe, supportive, fun space for kids to enjoy developing their skills as a musical theater performer. We work on singing, acting, dancing, and performing as a soloist and part of an ensemble. All levels of experience welcome. Repertoire is chosen specifically for the students enrolled, so everyone is challenged appropriately. SO MUCH FUN! Two staged and memorized performances per year.
Intro to the Instruments
A wonderful gateway to private lessons, this class for 4.5-7 years old lets kids develop their musical fundamentals while enjoying music with friends. We’ll learn to read and write music and spend 4 weeks each on piano, drums, recorder, and violin. We see a different orchestral instrument every week too! By the end of the semester your child will be ready to progress seamlessly into private lessons on the instrument that they enjoyed the most. Fall starts 8/17.
San Jose Singing Squad
Mondays 3:30-4:15pm
Middle and high school students are invited to develop their vocal and choral skills in this fun and varied choir taught by AAM Director Hannah Fuerst. While it was founded in 2024 to serve Bret Harte students since they do not have a choir option, middle and high school students from any school or homeschool are welcome. We will prepare and present two performances per year. (Maybe more!) Let's make new friends, sing some harmony, and enjoy music together! Choir resumes for 2026-27 on 8/17.
AP Music Theory
Mondays 7-8pm
Students grades 9-12 are invited to the most fun AP test prep class ever. This Aug-May class prepares students to succeed on the Music Theory 1 test (AP Music Theory equivalent) at West Valley Community College in May 2027. The Music Theory test score will appear on their high school transcript for this college-level class along with a college credit from West Valley College. Scholarships available. Class starts 8/17.
Band, Orchestra, Choir Ensembles
Does your child attend Graystone Elementary School, Williams Elementary, or Bret Harte Middle School? We offer instrumental ensembles onsite after school. Visit our Onsite@… page for more details and registration. If you’d like info on bringing AAM to your child’s school, email the Director to inquire. Classes start Aug 24, 2026.
All Together Now!
3 months - 6 years with caregiver
All Together Now! sets the foundation for a lifetime love of music. This fun-filled class for babies - age 6 has something for everyone to enjoy. Activities with age-appropriate variations allow each child to get the full benefits and enjoyment from the entire class.
